01Who we are
Padel Connect is a Sports Vector product. It records padel matches with court-side cameras and turns them into stats, replays and highlights through our website and web app (together, the “Services”).
The Services are provided by Sports Vector LLC, a company registered in the State of Qatar and based at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Doha, State of Qatar. In this policy, “Padel Connect”, “we” and “us” mean Sports Vector LLC.
This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with Qatar’s Law No. 13 of 2016 on the Protection of Personal Data Privacy (the “Data Protection Law”) and its implementing guidance.
02Our role with your data
Where we decide how data is used
For most of what we do, we are the controller: we decide why and how your data is used. This covers running your account, analysing matches for you, improving the product, keeping the Services secure and answering support requests.
Where we act for a club or organisation
Matches are recorded by cameras on partner clubs’ courts. For that footage, the club is the controller and Padel Connect is its processor: we only handle the footage on the club’s behalf, as it instructs and as the law allows. If you have a question about footage recorded at a club, you can contact the club directly, or contact us and we’ll pass your request on.
03What we collect
Your account
- Name and email address
- Login details
- Profile details you choose to add, such as playing level or home club
Match recordings and performance data
- Video and images of matches recorded on courts using Padel Connect cameras, which may show you and other people on and around the court
- Data we generate from that footage, such as positions, movement speed, distance covered, shot types, heatmaps, scores and ratings
- Match details such as date, time, court and club
How you use the Services
- IP address, device type, operating system and browser
- Pages and features you use, and when
- Error and diagnostic logs
Messages to us
- Support requests, feedback and anything you send through our contact form
Payments
Match reports are paid for individually. When you buy one, payment is handled through Apple Pay, so your card details stay with Apple and your bank. We receive billing details and a record of the transaction, but not your full card number.
04How we use it
- To run the Services and deliver your match stats, replays and highlights
- To set up and secure your account
- To answer questions and give support
- To fix problems and make the Services better
- To build and improve the computer-vision and AI models that power our analysis (see section 6)
- To spot and stop fraud, misuse and security threats
- To meet our legal obligations
05Our legal grounds
The Data Protection Law requires us to handle personal data honestly and lawfully, for clear purposes we tell you about. We process your data on these grounds:
- Providing the Services you ask for: running your account and delivering your match reports
- Legitimate purposes: improving the product, developing our models, analytics and security, always balanced against your rights and interests
- Legal obligations: where a law in Qatar requires us to keep or share data
- Your consent: for things like non-essential cookies and scanning a court’s QR code to have your match analysed. You can withdraw consent at any time.
06Match footage and AI
Our analysis is built on computer vision. To make it more accurate, we may use match footage and the data generated from it to train and test our models and to develop new features.
Where we can, we use data that has been aggregated or anonymised so it no longer identifies anyone.
You choose whether your match is analysed. A match is only linked to you, turned into a report and used to improve our models when you scan the QR code at the court. If you’d rather opt out, simply don’t scan it.
08Transfers outside Qatar
Some of our suppliers may store or process data outside Qatar. When that happens, we only transfer data as the Data Protection Law allows, and we put contractual and security safeguards in place so your data stays protected to the standard described in this policy.
09How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires. How long that is depends on the type of data. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymise it.
Data that has been fully anonymised can no longer identify you, so we may keep it without a time limit.
10Your rights
Under the Data Protection Law, you can ask us to:
- tell you how we process your personal data and give you a copy of it
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your data where we no longer need it or are not allowed to keep it
- stop processing your data where it is not necessary for the purposes we collected it for
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it
To make a request, contact us using the details in section 15. We may need to confirm your identity first. We aim to reply within 30 days.
11Keeping data secure
We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data, including encryption where suitable, secure hosting, and access controls so only people who need data can see it. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep risks low and act quickly if something goes wrong.
13Younger players
You must be 16 or older to use the Services. Qatar’s Data Protection Law gives children’s data extra protection, so if you are 16 or 17, we need consent from a parent or guardian before we process your data, and they can ask us to stop at any time.
14Updates to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make a significant change, we will let you know, for example by email or a notice in the app.
15Contact and complaints
Questions about this policy or your data? Email us at info@sportsvector.co, or write to Sports Vector LLC, Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Doha, State of Qatar.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the authority responsible for personal data protection in Qatar, the National Data Privacy Office at the National Cyber Security Agency. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before raising a complaint.
